The Great Future: 5 Methods for Early Childhood Development - Part 2

In the first part we looked at why we need to develop children's potential from an early age. Here we will follow the basic teaching methods and the most famous methods in its help.
Glenn Doman Methodology
Glenn Doman , an American physiotherapist, has worked on an entire early development system, but the most famous and accessible element of it are Doman's maps - plates with images of big words (namely whole words, not letters) and many not individual figures).
Pros : Visual memory training.
Cons : The child perceives the words, not the individual letters, which does not reflect well on his further logical development and ability to take a creative approach to solving one or another task. Insufficient socialization of children .
Baby Sensory Methodology
This methodology was developed in the UK and is rapidly becoming popular in many countries around the world. With the development of the child, the activities begin from birth. The Baby Sensory program pays attention to the physical , emotional and speech development of the child . Classes are formed depending on age, so Baby Sensory classes can begin from the first days of life. Children receive sensory and social experience, and mothers - useful information about child development . Kids are actively interested in other children, communicate in their own language and even make friends in the first year of life.
Pros : Excellent socialization and development of communication habits from the first days of life . Versatile development - creative, logical, physical and emotional.
Cons : Insufficient distribution of the program in Bulgaria.
Methodology of Makoto Shichida
Japanese professor Makoto Shichida considers it absolutely necessary to stimulate the development of the child 's right hemisphere, that of creativity and intuition. The basis of his methodology is to show slides on various topics for 30-45 minutes. Makoto Shichida is convinced that such stimulation of the brain in children helps to develop ingenious abilities and talents . As the participants in the experiments admit, the whole process requires a great deal of involvement of the mothers both at the stage of preparation of the slide presentations (about one hundred slides per day) and during the involvement of the child . Simply dealing with the child in free play form will not work here.
Pros : Parents spend a lot of time with the little one, which has a beneficial effect on him.
Cons : Unnecessary involvement of the mother in the process of preparing presentations. Little attention is paid to the development of the left hemisphere, and therefore to logic, motor skills and analytical skills. There are ambiguous esoteric elements in the methodology.
Methodology of Maria Montessori
The most popular methodology in Bulgaria - it is used by most kindergartens and development centers . The main goal of the methodology is the development of feelings, speech and understanding of order. The play area includes toys of different shapes and textures that the child must choose to play with.
Pros : Kids learn to be careful and disciplined , learn tactile perception of things. Thanks to games for the development of fine motor skills, children develop well the left hemisphere, which in the future improves their analytical skills and logic.
Cons : Minimal attention to children's creative abilities and, as a consequence, poor development of the right hemisphere. Children do not develop physically - sports games are few. Poor socialization of children - individual games are preferred to group games, kids become closed. For active and creative children , the methodology is simply contraindicated.
Nikitini's methodology
The authors of the methodology are parents with many children , who in the first place try to teach children independence . At the core are simple things: work, closeness to nature , naturalness and practical creativity. The parent only creates conditions for the child's development , and the child has the right to choose only how much time and what to do. The system is built on the principle of "simple to complex" and includes a set of gradually complicating development and sports tasks. Very much attention is paid to the physical part - daily sports, hardening from birth are mandatory.
Pros : Joint development of mother and child. Mental and physical development of children .
Cons : This is not a methodology, but rather a way of life that is impossible to maintain in urban conditions. Little attention is paid to the development of communication habits. Creativity is excluded in principle. Cruel methods of hardening: pouring ice water, walking barefoot in the snow.
